Protecting our vital water sources

The province is considering expanding the Greenbelt to include areas in the outer ring of the Greater Golden Horseshoe, an area that is experiencing significant growth and is under pressure from urban development.

One of the new areas under consideration is the Waterloo Moraine, located at the rural-urban boundary in northwest Waterloo, The Waterloo Moraine recharges our groundwater, which the whole region relies on for clean drinking water.
